Sniper Elite 5: Find and Kill Steffen Beckendorf
Players that are on the hunt for Steffen Beckendorf should turn their attention to the southwest corner of the Atlantic Wall’s map. In this area, fans will find a small town, and the target rides around it in a vehicle. While Sniper Elite 5 players can locate this vehicle simply by sneaking around the town, the top of the church on the east side of the search area provides an excellent vantage point from which to look.

To note, some players report that there is a bug that will prevent Beckendorf from appearing within the search area. Fans that are experiencing this issue are advised to follow these steps, as they should eventually allow them to encounter and kill the relevant target:
Navigate to the southwestern-most point of the map and light the bonfire near the tents to unlock the Town Promenade starting location. Complete Sniper Elite 5’s Atlantic Wall mission. Reload the mission, selecting the lowest difficulty and the Town Promenade as the starting location. Return to the search area and look for Beckendorf and his vehicle. If the target still does not appear, repeat steps three and four until he does.
After finally locating Beckendorf, players have a couple options for completing the kill challenge, which requires that the target be eliminated with an explosion. The first of those options is possible if Beckendorf is sitting in the car when he is found, as players can cause that vehicle to explode by firing a weapon in Sniper Elite 5 at its engine. Notably, fans can use Empty Lung to make hitting the engine quite easy, since that feature will cause a rifle’s reticle to turn red when it is on top of the motor.
Alternatively, players can engage Beckendorf directly and use an explosive, like a grenade, to kill him. While this is not a particularly stealthy approach, it will get the job done, and it may be the best option for those fans that have put a considerable amount of time toward searching for the target and simply want to resolve Sniper Elite 5’s Mission 1 kill challenge as quickly as possible.
