From Friday through Monday, Smash Ultimate players can participate in a tournament featuring the newcomers of Super Smash Bros. Melee. In fact, all of the criteria to enter this online tournament will have to do with the second installment of the series, which includes only items and stages from the popular title.

Running Friday, January 3 at 1 p.m. EST to Monday, January 6 at 1 p.m. EST, Smash Ultimate players can hop online to test their mettle against others from around the world to earn Spirits to boost their teams. The further players advance, the better (or more rare) Spirit they’ll win.

Each round will be a free-for-all with four players. It’ll be a timed smash match with a two minute and 30 second time limit. The Final Smash meter will be on, and select items will appear at a medium rate.

To enter this Super Smash Bros. Melee online tournament event, simply go to the “Online” tab in the main menu. Select “Online Tourney” and then “A Tribute to Melee.”
